What Makes Strawberries So Good

(apart from being delicious)?

Rich source of vitamin C

Vitamin C is good for your skin as it fights free radicals that steal oxygen from healthy cells and destroy collagen. Lack of collagen encourages the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Dietary fibre

Strawberries are an excellent source of dietary fibre which helps in eliminating harmful toxins in our bodies. Dietary fibre is also useful in regulating bowel movement, thereby preventing constipation. Fibre in strawberries can help you have regular toilet visits, which helps keeping your skin acne and pimple-free!

Folic acid

Folic acid aids in cell regeneration and the production of new cells in our bodies, rejuvenating the skin and help treat sagging skin.

Homemade Strawberry Scrub To Brighten & Tone

Now that I've convinced you how amazing this fruit is, you're probably eager to get started, right? Frist, make sure to use fresh strawberries because this recipe pins on its live properties to brighten your skin tone, heal and treat any signs of acne. Here is what you will need:

Your choice of exfoliator (salt or sugar)

Your choice of oil

Fresh strawberries

A muddler

An air-tight container

Essential Oils

First you’ll need to choose your exfoliant.

We recommend using either white or brown sugar. Sugar is less abrasive than salt because it dissolves more easily. Brown sugar is the best for sensitive skin, because it’s the softest.

    Next, select your oil.

I picked five different oils that are great for your skin: olive oil, almond oil, avocado oil, argan oil, and extra virgin coconut oil. All of these oils, except the avocado oil, are naturally antibacterial, which will help prevent acne, and any skin outbreaks.

    For Very Dry Skin

Olive oil is good for really dry skin, and it won’t clog your pores.

For UVB Rays Protection and To Improve Skin Tone

Almond oil is amazing because it can reduce the effects of UVB rays, and it can help improve skin tone.

    To Retain Skin Moisture

Avocado oil is extracted from the pulp of the fruit—not the seed—so it’s incredibly rich and will help your skin retain moisture.

    For an Anti-aging Effect

Extra virgin coconut oil is packed with antioxidants and free radicals which help premature skin aging.

    For Antibacterial And Fungicidal Properties

Argan oil has both antibacterial and fungicidal properties that help treat and prevent both fungal and bacterial skin infections.

    Homemade strawberry scrub

    1. Choose your container, and measure your exfoliant so that the container is 3/4 full.

    2. Measure out your oil. You’ll want a 2-to-1 ratio. So, twice as much sugar as oil.

    3. Combine oil, a few drops of Essential Oil, and sugar in a bowl, and stir until it's all combined.

    4. Add in the strawberry chopped, and muddle the mixture together until it's all combined. You don’t want to mix it too much or the granules will start to dissolve.

    5. Gradually pour into your storage container and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks (maximum).

    6. Apply the scrub gently to your face.

    7. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

    For Maximum Benefits:

Follow the scrub treatment with this homemade strawberry face mask and in case you suffer from mild swelling or puffiness under the eyes apply this homemade strawberry treatment over your eyes while the mask works its magic for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water and seal the treatment with a toner, followed by an eye and neck serum, and a moisturizer
